Prism 1.2.01 is now available, adding AAX support for Pro Tools, smaller save data, and a number of reliability and workflow improvements.

AAX Support for Pro Tools

The headline addition in Prism 1.2 is support for the AAX plugin format for ARA in Pro Tools.

This requires Pro Tools 2025.6 or later, and gives Pro Tools users a direct path to use Prism's audio-to-MIDI workflow inside an ARA-capable Pro Tools setup.

Smaller, Faster Save Data

Prism save data is now compressed, which reduces file size and helps speed up saving and loading. This is especially helpful when working with larger sessions or projects that contain more analyzed material.

Clearer Algorithm Naming

We renamed the ac piano algorithm to grand piano to better describe what it is designed for: high-end acoustic piano recordings, such as classical or jazz solo performances.

For many other piano, keyboard, and general instrument sources, the general algorithm is still often the best starting point. It never hurts to try both and use the one that gives the cleanest result for the specific audio.

DAW and ARA Workflow Improvements

This update also improves handling of split clips from the same audio source, including cases where clips are split and moved. We also fixed Capture Audio behavior in MixCraft and Multitrack Studio DAWs.

Several tempo-map related issues were addressed as well, including a crash related to tempo maps and a crash that could occur when clicking Save Midi or Drag Midi.

Additional Fixes

Prism 1.2 includes a number of smaller fixes and improvements:

  • Fixed a potential conflict with onnxruntime and other installed plugins that could prevent Prism from analyzing audio.
  • Fixed a rare crash that could occur when playing MIDI while adjusting the Sensitivity knob.
  • Fixed MIDI panning behavior when the DAW track is mono. Audio and MIDI cannot be panned in Prism when the DAW track itself is mono.
  • Fixed an issue in the non-ARA version where capturing silence could create MIDI notes at the end of each row.
  • Improved mouse editing for very small notes on screen.
  • Removed the default MIDI program change message from generated MIDI.
  • Fixed the Windows uninstaller so it correctly uninstalls Prism plugin files.

We also clarified the EULA language around generated results: Aurally Sound does not control or limit how you use the results Prism creates, but as always, please respect copyrights when using source material.
